How the job runs
Confirm the grade
VIN, engine code and the handbook decide the viscosity. A 5.6 V8 and a 4.8 straight-six do not want the same oil because it was on the shelf.
Drain hot
Drained at operating temperature so the contaminants leave with the oil rather than settling in the sump.
Filter and washer
New filter, new crush washer, torqued to spec. A reused washer is how a sump plug weeps for the next 10,000 km.
Refill and reset
Filled by volume, checked on the dipstick hot, reminder reset, and a sticker with the next service kilometres.

What decides the price
The oil the engine specifies and how much of it the sump holds. A Patrol's big V8 takes considerably more oil than a four-cylinder saloon, so the same forty-five minutes of work is a larger bill simply because there is more oil in it; the six-cylinder engines sit a little below the V8. The filter is always included and we will not fit an oil below the specification in the service book to make the number look better.
