Measure, then quote
Pad thickness and disc thickness in millimetres. You see the numbers against the manufacturer's minimum.
Clean the carriers
Sand and dust seize slide pins, and a seized pin wears one pad twice as fast as the other. Cleaning them is why the next set lasts.
Fit as an axle set
Both sides, matched compound, with new anti-rattle shims and wear indicators where the pad uses them.
Bed in before handover
A sequence of controlled stops lays an even transfer layer on the disc. Skipping it is what causes judder at 2,000 km.

What decides the price
Axle count and whether the discs survive. Pads on one axle is the base job. Pads and discs is roughly double, and on a vehicle as heavy as a Patrol the pads and discs are large, so the parts are the expensive half. We measure the disc thickness against the manufacturer's minimum and show you the reading, because "they may as well be done" is not a measurement.

How often do Patrol brake pads need replacing in Dubai?
Typically every 30,000 to 50,000 km. Weight, heat and heavy traffic braking wear pads faster here than in a cooler climate, and Patrols that tow or run big tyres are at the short end.
Do the discs have to be changed with the pads?
Only if they are below the minimum thickness marked on the disc, or badly grooved. We measure and show you; plenty of Patrols get two sets of pads on one set of discs.
How much does Patrol brake pad replacement cost?

How often should brake fluid be changed?
Every two years. Brake fluid absorbs water, and water boils — which is exactly the wrong property on a long descent or when slowing a loaded Patrol repeatedly.
